Erdogan: A peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian crisis can be found on the basis of preserving Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty
Baku/19.04.22/Turan: Turkey will continue all necessary efforts to end hostilities in Ukraine and achieve sustainable peace between Moscow and Kiev. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this on April 18 during an iftar program organized for heads of foreign diplomatic missions in Ankara.
"Achieving a truce and then a lasting peace between our two neighbors would be one of the best things done in the name of humanity," the Turkish leader said.
According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan regretted that the attacks on civilians in Ukraine have slowed down the successful talks between Ankara-mediated Moscow and Kiev. "The sides have made tangible progress in the talks; however, the footage from Bucha and Irpen and the use of civilians from Kramatorsk as targets cast a shadow over our efforts," he said in particular.
Noting that Turkey will continue its efforts to achieve "satisfactory for the parties and the international community" results of the Russian-Ukrainian talks in Istanbul, Erdogan expressed confidence that a peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian crisis can be found through dialogue and on the basis of preserving the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.-0-
