Erdogan and Putin discuss Karabakh
Baku/11.11.20 / Turan: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, during which the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and Syria was discussed. This is stated in the message of the public relations Department of the AP of Turkey.
According to Anadolu, during the talks, the Turkish leader said that the right step was taken on the way to the final solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem last night.
He stressed that this "important opportunity" should not be missed and should be used to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.
The Turkish head of state stressed that the most important issue at this stage is Armenia's compliance with the ceasefire regime and the obligations set out in the joint statement of the presidents of Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation and the Prime Minister of Armenia.
President Erdogan noted that Turkey, together with Russia, will monitor compliance with the ceasefire regime through a Joint center that will be formed on the territory liberated from the occupation of Armenia. The Turkish head of state stressed that the Russian side also bears significant responsibility in this regard.
The Turkish President also stressed the importance of the return of internally displaced Azerbaijanis to their homes in Nagorno-Karabakh and the opening of the corridor between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan.
Stressing that the example of Nagorno-Karabakh demonstrated the importance of Turkish-Russian cooperation for resolving regional conflicts and crises, President Erdogan said that the same approach should be taken in Syria, where the parties can create similar mechanisms. -0—
