Erdogan Discusses Armenian-Azerbaijani Conflict with Putin
Baku / 28.07.20 / Turan: At the initiative of the Turkish side, Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Kremlin press service reported.
“An exchange of views was held on the state of affairs in the Transcaucasia in the context of the aggravation of the situation in the area of the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border. Vladimir Putin stressed the importance of avoiding any actions that would escalate tensions. Both sides expressed interest in resolving the conflict situation exclusively by peaceful means, through negotiations. They expressed readiness to coordinate efforts to stabilize the region.
The leaders also noted that there is no alternative to the political and diplomatic settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the basis of the principles of international law in the interests of the peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
