Erdogan meets with the representatives of protesting movement

The Turkish authorities have expressed their willingness to make concessions to the protesting  movement "Taksim Platform," which challenges the legality of building  in the  historic parkland Gezi in the center of Istanbul.

On June 14, a  government spokesman Huseyin Celik, said  that, after nearly four hours of talks of the  Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan  with the  leaders of protesting public, the parties agreed to wait for a court decision on the admissibility of the construction works. However, the question of the further continuation of the anti-government rallies and demonstrations remains open, according to Turkish media.
Erdogan  confirmed his proposal  on referendum, even if the court allows the construction on the  territory of  Gezi park. The government still intends to organize a popular voting among the inhabitants of Istanbul.

The authorities promised to "do not touch" to the historical  sightseeing in the city center prior to the court ruling  . "Turkey  is  a legal state, and we the decision of the judiciary,"  said the representative of the government.

Demands  of the representatives of the protesting Movement " Taksim Platform" to Erdogan and his cabinet remain the same - to leave the park Gezi in its current form, to punish the police for excessive use of force, the release of detained protesters,  and to respect freedom of speech and assembly.

On the question of possible sanctions against police officers on the Turkish authorities  are ready  meet the will of the protesters o possible sanctions  against the police officers  only in case  if it is   proved that the  law enforcement agencies "have broken the law." -02D-
