EU conducted training for Migrant and Border Patrol Workers in Migrant Work
Baku / 08.11.18 / Turan: The EU Mobilaze project held in Baku final three-day trainings for employees of the State Border Service and State Migration Service to train new methods of working with documents of foreigners passing through the state border. Workers were trained to recognize false documents, compare documents with official samples, conduct interviews, work with modern equipment. Documents and training materials were handed over to these agencies for practical work and distribution among the employees of the Migration and Border Guard Service. The European Union also prepared and handed over to Azerbaijani officials" pocket dictionaries in Azerbaijani, English, Russian, Arabic, Chinese and Urdu, as well as instructions and manuals in electronic format on microcards for reading in a smartphone.
The training was conducted within the framework of the EU projects "Support for cooperation with Azerbaijan on displacement" (Mobilaze), in accordance with the EU-Azerbaijan Declaration on Partnership on Displacement. The purpose of the partnership is to transfer to Azerbaijan the experience and skills of managing organized migration, expanding the capacity to monitor, research and forecast migration processes. Project participants made study visits to seven EU countries.
The Deputy Managers of the Migration and Border Guard Service Ulvi Aliyev and Azad Gasimov, who spoke at the reception ceremony, expressed satisfaction with the successful implementation of the project.
