Flood victims were not able to pass on their complaints personally to Emergencies

Today in the town of Salyan was organized a public reception by the Emergencies Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov.

To get an appointment with Heydarov in the early morning in front of the Mugan Regional Emergency Center, where the meeting wasm planned, the event brought together over 300 people from the city of Shirvan, and the Sabirabad, Salyan, Neftchala, Gadzhikabul, Saatly, Bilasuvar and Imishly areas.

These were people mainly affected by the severe flooding in 2010, told Turan the head of the regional NGO "Democracy Promotion" Emil Mammadov.

The reception began 1 hour later than the designated time.

"Supporting order" in the queue, people in civilian clothes maltreated the complainers, journalists and civil society activists.
The complainants were most disappointed that they could not meet directly with the minister. They were received by the committee members of the staff of the MOE.

Emergency workers in uniform insulted and pushed back the people from the building where the meeting took place, including employee of the radio station Azadlig Azer Ali and other local journalists who tried to interview complainants coming out of the Regional Centre.
A resident of the village of Sabirabad Meyniman, Leila Yagubova felt bad because no one listened to her complaint. The woman was taken to the "emergency."

Thus, the last hopes were dispelled of the people affected by flood on bringing their complaints to the government, Mammadov said.
Recall that as a result of flooding in the spring of 2010 on the Kura and Araz rivers were flooded more than 100 hectares of land and more than 20 million homes. For flood relief the government allocated 460 million manat. The work was led by the MOE.
