Foreign Minister and ICRC President discuss the possibility of exchange of prisoners and hostages between Armenia and Azerbaijan
Baku /24.10.19 / Turan: On October 24, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Peter Maurer discussed the issue of the exchange of prisoners and hostages between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Peter Maurer arrived in Baku to attend the Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement.
"The Minister emphasized that Azerbaijan appreciates the activities of the ICRC in the context of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. At the same time, he noted the importance of efforts to free the held captive hostages on the principle of "all for all," "the Foreign Ministry press service said.
Maurer informed Mammadyarov of the work carried out by the ICRC in this direction. The parties also discussed the current state and prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and the ICRC. -02D-
