Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan meets with with the US Ambassador
Baku/30.07.20/Turan: On Thursday, the Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger. During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation between the two countries in many areas, including the energy sector, the activities of the Azerbaijan-US economic partnership commission, interaction in the field of global security, solidarity in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, etc., press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
Minister Bayramov, referring to the Karabakh conflict, focused on the fact that the latest military provocation of the Armenian Armed Forces on the Tovuz direction of the international border, which was a deliberate act of aggression, spoke about the damage to the civilian population and infrastructure of Azerbaijan, reported the murder of a civilian. It was emphasized that Azerbaijan supports the continuation of negotiations on the settlement of the conflict; however, they must be real and substantive, and not imitation.
Ambassador Lee Liezenberger congratulated Jeyhun Bayramov on his appointment as Foreign Minister and wished him success in his new post. It was noted that Azerbaijan is an important partner country for the United States, and the parties have a number of common interests.
