Foreign Ministry: Georgia will not take part in the “3+3” format (updated)
Baku/22.10.23/Turan: The Georgian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Georgia will not take part in the “3+3” format meeting, which will take place on October 23 in Tehran. “Georgia is not participating in the meeting and has never participated in it,” the country’s Foreign Ministry told the Georgian service of Radio Liberty.
On October 23, the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran, Russia and Turkey will hold a meeting in Tehran in the “3+2” format.
This format is an initiative of Turkish President Erdogan to solve the problems of the South Caucasus with the participation of Turkey, Russia and Iran.
Georgia initially refused to participate in this format due to Russia's occupation of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in 2008. -0-

The meeting of the foreign ministers of Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Armenia will be held in Tehran
Baku/22.10.23/Turan: The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the participation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in negotiations in Tehran on October 23, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Sunday.
Earlier, Iranian media reported that the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran, Russia and Turkey could hold a meeting within the “3+3” format in Tehran on October 23.
On Friday, October 20, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan confirmed that Yerevan had received an invitation from the Iranian side to participate in the regional “3+3” format in Tehran.
The main topic of discussion should be ways to resolve the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
However, this format does not correspond to reality, because Georgia refuses to participate in the format due to the occupation of its territories by Russia. Therefore, for now, this format looks like 3+2.
Meanwhile, official Baku has not yet confirmed its participation in the Tehran meeting. -0-
