Foreign Ministry: no documents will be signed during Mammadyarov"s visit to Israel
Azerbaijani delegation will visit several countries in the Middle East as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. During the visit, meetings will be held at a high level in the Palestinian Authority and Israel, spokesman Elman Abdullayev said at the briefing in the Foreign Ministry.
According to him, the delegation will be led by the Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov, and the visit will take place on April 21-24.
Azerbaijan is closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East, and "can not remain indifferent" to what is happening there.
"Azerbaijan supports Palestine and collaborates with Israel. We constantly help and will continue our help to Palestine," he said.
Abdullayev also said that no documents will be signed during the visit, and diplomatic Azerbaijani embassy will not open. Being asked if the Iranian theme will be discussed in Israel, Abdullayev said that it is early to talk about it. "Azerbaijan is interested in development of cooperation with Iran," Abdullayev said in response to a request to comment on the threats against Baku from Tehran. -03C-
