Former head of Shamkir sentenced to 11.5 years of imprisonment
Former head of Shamkir region executive power Alimpasha Mammadov was sentenced to 11.5 years of imprisonment. Such verdict was passed by Ganja Court of Grave Crimes on 24 June.
The state prosecutor asked the court to sentence him to 13 years.
Recall that Mammadov was detained last April by officers of the State Security Service. He was charged under Articles 179.4 (large-scale embezzlement); 193-1.3.2 (legalization of money obtained by criminal means); 308.2 (abuse of official powers resulting in grave consequences); 311.3.2 and 311.3.3 (repeated large-scale bribery) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
