Ganja is shelled from the territory of Armenia
Baku/04.10.20/Turan: The political and military leadership of Armenia continues war crimes, firing rockets at the Azerbaijani city of Ganja from the territory of Armenia on the morning of October 4. This is stated in the statement of the assistant to the Azerbaijani resident Hikmet Hajiyev. The Armenian Armed Forces launched a missile attack on the city of Terter and Horadiz in the Fizuli region.
“Again, rockets were fired from the territory of Armenia at the settlements in Fizuli and Jabrayil regions of Azerbaijan. As a result, several civilians were killed and injured.
In recent days, Armenia has fired over 10,000 different types of shells and missiles at densely populated Azerbaijani settlements. More than 500 private houses were destroyed or seriously damaged. Massive bombing of Azerbaijani settlements is not accidental, but purposeful.
The systematic bombing of settlements by Armenia testifies to the fact that this plan was prepared in advance and included in the program of combat and fire training of the Armenian armed forces. These actions by Armenia are part of the policy of aggression and military occupation against Azerbaijan, which has been going on for over 30 years.
The Armenian armed forces use cluster bombs, which are prohibited by international conventions. The Azerbaijani side, guided by international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, has repeatedly warned the Armenian military leadership through relevant international organizations about the need to refrain from artillery and rocket attacks on populated areas and civilians. However, these warnings were ignored. A significant part of artillery and rocket attacks is conducted from artillery bases near the city of Khankendi.
The Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan are forced to destroy these firing points with targeted and targeted fire to ensure the safety of the civilian population and respond appropriately.
The Republic of Azerbaijan has repeatedly stated that the presence of the Armenian armed forces in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan remains a serious threat to regional peace and security. The political and military leadership of Armenia poses a threat to the entire region.
To ensure lasting peace in the region, it is necessary to completely withdraw the Armenian troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council,” the statement says.
