Head of the Ministry of National Security (MNS): security threat has increased
Recently, destructive elements have been attracted to the anti-Azerbaijani activities, and the threat on the part of certain foreign circles also increased, said the Minister Eldar Mahmudov at the meeting on the 94th anniversary of the MNS.
In particular, he touched recent operation carried out jointly with General Prosecutor Office, during which a group of detainees had a bottle with a "Molotov cocktail", intended for use in unauthorized meetings. He described it as the of activation of anti-Azerbaijani circles.
MNS chief also told that a group of seven people, which was preparing terrorist attacks, had a lot of weapons and ammunition, was made harmless.
He also told about making harmless a group of 22 people, which collaborated with foreign intelligence services and was engaged in espionage, preparing for terrorism and other crimes.
The Minister said that in preparation for the contest "Eurovision - 2012" were prevented terrorist activities of international groups. as a result of events in Baku and in the regions, 58 radical people were brought to justice.
The Minister also noted the arrest of 12 people for trying to incite inter-religious hatred and organizing mass disorders, which used the material and ideological support from foreign countries.
