HLWG meeting on Caspian Sea issues held in Tehran
The 8th meeting of the High Level Working Group (HLWG) on Caspian Sea issues was held in Tehran on 24-26 June.
Delegations from all five Caspian littoral states -- Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan took part in the talks.
Azerbaijan was represented at the meeting by Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov.
During the meeting, the methodology of establishing direct baselines in the Caspian Sea was discussed.
The meeting also reviewed co-operation in the Caspian Sea. The next meeting of the HLWG will be held in Kazakhstan and the dates will be agreed through diplomatic channels.
