Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan Exemplary Country
Baku / 30.01.18 / Turan: Construction of new housing for internally displaced persons will be continued this year and new apartments will be received by 20,000 people, President Ilham Aliyev said at the conference on the results of the fourth year of the state program for the development of regions of the country in 2014-2018.
Up to this day, 265,000 IDPs have received new houses or apartments, he noted.
Aliyev described the implementation of such projects as evidence of Azerbaijan's determination to restore territorial integrity and build new cities and the necessary infrastructure.
"Today, the restoration of the territorial integrity of the country is our main task," he said.
Touching upon economic issues, Aliyev called upon big business structures to "realize their social responsibility" in exchange for the conditions created by the state for entrepreneurs.
He did not disclose exactly what this responsibility is and what business structures should do.
Further, he mentioned the implementation of the self-employment program this year, which is allocated 30 million manat. The President said this program will involve 6-7 thousand families, but he did not specify what this program implies. However, he added that the state will provide support to low-income families, provide free of charge necessary equipment and means to enable people to establish their business.
"If every year we create similar conditions for 6-7 thousand families, then no one will need social assistance," he added.
Further, Aliyev touched upon the issue of presidential elections. "On the eve of the 2003 elections, I said that if the people trust me, then first of all I will deal with the problems of the regions. Rapid socio-economic development will begin in the regions. The past 14 years have shown that these promises have been fully implemented, "Aliyev said.
According to him, the country has achieved great success in all spheres: the country's international prestige has grown, and political and economic reforms have been highly appreciated by the world community. The country provides security and stability.
"Today, according to the parameters of development and civil solidarity, Azerbaijan is one of the exemplary countries in the world," the President of Azerbaijan said. -02D-
