Washington One Step Away from New Sanctions against Putin's Team

Baku / 30.01.18 / Turan: The US Treasury published the "Kremlin Report" in response to the Congress request for measures against Moscow for interfering in the presidential election in 2016.

In the list, released on Monday evening, January 29, a total of 210 names are listed, among them 114 officials and 96 oligarchs.

At the same time, the US administration announced a decision not to take restrictive measures at the moment with regard to the persons on the list. This list is not sanctioned, the US Treasury said. At the same time, the "Kremlin report" does not remove the previously imposed restrictive measures with respect to some of its participants.

The list includes all members of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation: Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, Head of the Government Staff Sergei Prikhodko, Deputy Prime Ministers Alexander Khloponin, Vitaly Mutko, Arkady Dvorkovich, Olga Golodets, Dmitry Kozak, Dmitry Rogozin and other members of the government, in particular, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov and Justice Minister Alexander Konovalov.

In addition, the list included Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matvienko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin, Prosecutor General Yury Chaika, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko, head of the Investigation Committee Alexander Bastrykin.

Among the figurants of the list are also 33 employees of the presidential administration, in particular: the head of the administration Anton Vaino, the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, the first deputy head of the presidential administration Alexei Gromov and Sergei Kiriyenko, presidential advisors Sergei Glazyev, Sergei Grigorov, Herman Klimenko, Anton Kobyakov, Alexandra Levitskaya, Vladimir Tolstoy and Veniamin Yakovlev, head of the Presidential Council for Human Rights Mikhail Fedotov, presidential aides Larisa Brycheva, Vladislav Surkov, Igor Levitin, Vladimir Kozhi Yuri Ushakov, Andrei Fursenko, and Igor Shchegolev.

In the first part of the Kremlin report, in addition, the head of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov, the secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, his deputy Rashid Nurgaliyev, the head of the GRU (Defense Ministry"s Intelligence Service) Igor Korobov, the chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov and the head of the Federal Customs Service Vladimir Bulavin.

In addition, the list included the heads of state-controlled companies - Alexei Miller (Gazprom), Igor Sechin (Rosneft), German Gref (Sberbank), Oleg Belozerov (Russian Railways), Vitaly Saveliev (Aeroflot), Andrey Akimov (Gazprombank), Andrey Kostin (VTB Bank), Alexey Likhachev (Rosatom) and others.

The list of oligarchs includes, among others, Roman Abramovich, Oleg Deripaska, Suleiman Kerimov, Elena Baturina, Mikhail Fridman, Pyotr Aven, Vladimir Potanin, Alisher Usmanov, Eugene Kaspersky, Vagit Alekperov, Alexander Mamut, Andrei Melnichenko, Leonid Mikhelson, Alexei Mordashov, Arkady and Boris Rotenberg, Kirill Shamalov, Gennady Timchenko, Oleg Tinkov, Viktor Vekselberg and Vladimir Yevtushenkov.

Earlier in the day, the US administration held a secret briefing for the Congress on the introduction of sanctions against Russia. "Today, we informed Congress that its legislative activity hinders the sales of Russia's defense industry," State Department spokesman Heather Nauert said, stressing that many foreign governments have abandoned planned or announced purchases of arms from Russia worth billions of dollars. -02D-
