Ilham Aliyev for Increasing Mutual Investments of Turkic Countries
Baku / 15.10.19 / Turan: On Tuesday, at the initiative of Turkish President Erdogan, the ex-head of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, was elected Honorary President of the organization on the summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states in Baku.
In turn, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev presented Nazarbayev with the highest order of the Turkic Council.
Aliyev welcomed the decision of the President of Uzbekistan to join the Turkic Council. This step will serve to strengthen ties in the Turkic world. "And the decision of the Prime Minister of Hungary to take part as an observer at the event is expanding our geography," Aliyev said.
He recalled that 10 years ago in Nakhchivan, at the summit of the Turkic-speaking countries, important decisions were made on the creation of the Turkic Council.
"Unfortunately, the decision taken at one time to take Zangezur from Azerbaijan and transfer it to Armenia, broke the ties and roads in the Turkic world," Aliyev emphasized.
He noted that the main topic of the summit is devoted to the development of small and medium-sized businesses. A strong class of medium and small businesses has been formed in Azerbaijan, which can work not only in the country, but also abroad.
270 billion dollars of investments were invested in the country, half of which are foreign. Investments between Turkic-speaking countries are also growing. For example, Azerbaijan has invested $ 15 billion in Turkey, and Turkey has invested $ 12 billion in Azerbaijan.
The main problem for Azerbaijan is the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In connection with the destructive position of Armenia, there is no progress in the negotiation process. Currently, Armenia is trying to make friends with Muslim countries. However, a country that occupies territories and destroys mosques there cannot be a friend of a Muslim country, Aliyev emphasized. -71C-
