Nazarbayev Proposes to Turn Turkic Council into Organization
Baku /15.10.19 / Turan: The ex-President of Kazakhstan and the honorary head of the Council of Turkic-speaking countries Nursultan Nazarbayev proposes to rename the Council into the Organization of Turkic states. He stated this on Tuesday, speaking at the 7th Council Summit in Baku,
"I have two suggestions. The first is to develop the Turkic Vision program until 2040, and the second is to change the name of the Council.
I believe that it is necessary to raise the Council to the level of the Organization. In this case, our name will be Organization of Turkic States," Nazarbayev said.
Recall that the Council of Turkic States was established in 2009. Its members are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkey, and Hungary is an observer. Since this year, Uzbekistan has joined the Council. -02D-
