Erdogan Calls on Turkic Countries to Support Turkey in Syria
Baku /15.10.19 / Turan: Turkey"s military operation in Syria, Source of Peace, has two objectives - the complete elimination of the terrorist threat at the borders and the safe return of 3 million 650 thousand Syrians to their homes. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking today at the Turkic Council summit in Baku.
Among the refugees who have found refuge in Turkey are 350 thousand Syrian Kurds, whom Erdogan called "our guests."
According to Erdogan, the operation is progressing successfully. "So far, we have freed 1,000 square km. We ensure the security of our borders," said Erdogan.
"The operation will continue until the goals that we set for ourselves are fully met," he continued. At the first stage, 1 million Syrian refugees will be sent to safe territories, and at the second - another 2 million.
"We urge our fraternal countries to support Turkey in its fight against terrorism," Erdogan said. -71C-
