Ilham Aliyev has replaced more than half of SOCAR`s vice presidents
Baku/28.07.23/Turan: The head of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, dismissed five vice-presidents of the state oil company SCOAR by today's orders.
In particular, Yashar Latifov (supervised field development projects), Suleiman Gasimov (economic issues), Khalig Mammadov (personnel, information technology), Badal Badalov (social issues) and Dashgyn Iskenderov (issues of oil and gas transportation and gas management) lost their positions in the company's management.
The Head of State appointed 7 new vice-presidents Arzu Javadova (previously held the position of Chief Geologist of the State Oil Company), Ziba Mustafayeva (headed the Human Resources Department of "Azercell"), Iskender Zargyarly (worked at the OMNI law firm), Fuad Musayev (worked at SOCAR AQS), Babek Huseynov, and Afgan Isayev (led the Southern Gas Corridor project").
Prior to today's personnel decisions, SOCAR had 10 vice presidents. ---06B---

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan published a set of proposals on his Facebook page aimed at establishing long-term peace in the region. Among them, he suggested that Azerbaijan should abandon mutual claims against Armenia, including in international courts. Other proposals include: refraining from using belligerent rhetoric, continuing the demarcation of borders, signing a peace agreement that is 90% ready, mutually implementing arms control, creating a joint mechanism to investigate violations of the ceasefire regime, and dissolving the OSCE Minsk Group.

Baku is expected to see the construction of 10 new metro stations. President Ilham Aliyev discussed this during a meeting with journalists on January 7. The head of state noted that locations for the new metro stations have been selected, and investments will start being made this year.
