Ilham Aliyev received US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State
Baku/06.11.21/Turan: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Caucasus, Regional Conflicts and Southern Europe Erica Olson.
During the meeting, it was noted that next year will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Azerbaijan and the United States. At the same time, it was emphasized that long-term and successful partnership relations have been established between the two countries, fruitful cooperation is being carried out in the energy sector, the US expressed interest in expanding ties with Azerbaijan, the statement published on the website of the head of state said.
New opportunities for regional development and cooperation were also noted, an exchange of views on the prospects for interaction took place.
Olson visited Azerbaijan as part of a tour of the South Caucasus countries, where she met with both government and civil society representatives. In Yerevan, she met with the US ambassadors to Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia. -06b03-
