Ilham Aliyev Withdraws Heads of Eight Diplomatic Missions of Azerbaijan Abroad
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on Wednesday to revoke a number of heads of diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan abroad.
So, Elkhan Gahramanov was recalled from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Arab Emirates, Mamed Ahmadzadeh - Ambassador to Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, Chile and Uruguay, Tofig Zulfugarov - Ambassador to Estonia, Vahdat Sultanzadeh - to Turkmenistan, and Zakir Hashimov - to Kazakhstan.
The President also recalled Murad Najafbayli from the post of permanent representative of Azerbaijan to the United Nations in Geneva and other international organizations.
In addition, Hasan Zeynalov was recalled from the post of General Consul of Azerbaijan in Istanbul and Rashad Mammadov - from Aktau.
The order does not state the reasons for the withdrawal of the diplomats. Perhaps this is due to the end of their diplomatic missions because they held these positions for 5-6 years or more.
New appointments at the vacancies have not yet followed. -06B--
