Ince Admits Results of Defeat, but Continues to Struggle
Baku / 25.06.18 / Turan: During the presidential elections on April 24 there were violations, but their scale does not affect the results announced by the CEC. This was stated by the opposition candidate Muharrem Ince at today's press conference.
According to official figures, Ince won the second place, gaining just over 30% of the vote.
He refrained from evaluating the election, waiting for the official results of the vote and reconciling them with the protocols that are available at his representatives.
Ince noted that the probability of the second round would have increased if other opposition candidates had gained more votes than 8-9%.
At the same time, he noted that the new presidential system in Turkey, which comes into effect after the presidential elections, puts the country away from democracy.
"But, we will continue to fight for the future of the country," Ince said.
At the same time, Ince noted that he achieved the fact that for the first time in 40 years, the People's Republican Party he represented had gained the support of more than 30% of voters.
Ince said he was not going to leave politics. "Should a person with 15 million votes leave politics?" Ince said. -06D--
