Institutes of ANAS are transferred to the newly created Ministry of Science and Education
Baku/28.07.22/Turan: President Ilham Aliyev today signed a decree "On some measures to improve management in the field of science and education in the Republic of Azerbaijan."
According to the document, the Ministry of Education is renamed into the Ministry of Science and Education.
The new department is entrusted with the implementation of state policy and regulation in the field of science, coordination of the activities of scientific institutions and organizations.
Under the Ministry, the State Agency for Science and Education and the State Agency for Preschool and General Education are being created.
In addition, the institutes of the National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), its Nakhchivan and Ganja branches, as well as self-supporting enterprises of ANAS are transferred to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Science and Education.
At the same time, the Museum of the History of Azerbaijan, the National Museum of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, the House-Museum of Hussein Javid, which functioned as part of ANAS, are transferred to the Ministry of Culture.
Thus, today's decree effectively put an end to the ANAS system inherited from the Soviet period. -06B-
