International Conference "Traditions of Independent Statehood in the Turkic World"

Baku / 29.06.18 / Turan: On June 28, the International Scientific Conference "Traditions of independent statehood in the Turkic world and modern problems of development" opened at the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, the Public Relations Department of ANAS reported.

Scientists and experts from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, the republics of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation, and from other countries take part in the event.

The President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh stressed the significance of the conference from the point of view of studying the history of the centuries-old scientific and cultural ties of the Turkic peoples. Speaking about cooperation between the Turkic-speaking countries in the field of science and education, he expressed confidence that these ties will expand.

Gunay Efendiyeva, the head of the International Fund for Turkic Culture and Heritage, spoke about the activities of her organization and noted that the main goal of the Foundation is to strengthen ties between Turkic-speaking peoples, study the cultural heritage of the Turkic world and its propaganda.

The Permanent Secretary of the International Turkic Academy Askhat Kesikbayev

noted that back in 2009 the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev put forward a proposal to create an international scientific center for the study of the Turkic world.

The President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkey Ahmet Cevat Acar made a report on the importance of scientific cooperation in the Turkic world. The President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Myakzum Salakhov told about the cultural ties between Tatarstan and Azerbaijan. The President of the Academy of Sciences of Bashkortostan Alfis Gayazov reported about the cultural population of the Turan space.
