Iran - a threat for Azerbaijan and other neighbors
A press conference on the situation in Iran was held on Friday in the Media Center by the representative of the National Liberation Front of South Azerbaijan Yasaman Qaraqoyunlu.
Addressing the theme of the presidential elections in Iran, she said they will bring nothing positive for the Azerbaijanis in Iran. For this reason, she called on the Azerbaijanis to boycott the elections.
Regarding the pilgrimage of Azerbaijanis to Mashhad and religious education in Qom, Qaraqoyunlu said that religion in Azerbaijan becomes "Persian."
Those who received education in Qom, are considered dangerous for the statehood of Azerbaijan. He urged the religious centers of Azerbaijan and the Religious Affairs Committee to express their attitude to this issue, and noted the need for religious reforms.
Qaraqoyunlu called absurd the Iranian side’s call to join Azerbaijan to Iran and thereby cancel the Turkmanchay Treaty of 1828. He recalled that at that time it was not Iran, but the State of Gajars, who were Turks. For this reason, Azerbaijan is the successor of the Gajars and can claim all the current territory of Iran, she said.
She also said that Iran's nuclear program threatens the entire region. A suggestion was made to all the neighboring states of Iran - Azerbaijan, Turkey, Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan and the bordering Arab states to sign a security pact.
She also suggested that Iran should be expelled from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for cooperating with Armenia and supporting the occupation of Azerbaijani lands. -05C04-
