Iran called the preservation of the territorial integrity of the countries of the region a red line
Baku/20.09.23/Turan: Major General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, the Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasized the pivotal importance of safeguarding the territorial integrity of regional countries and international borders.
According to IRNA, during a meeting with the Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, Major General Ashtiani voiced strong opposition to any presence of extraregional forces within the Caucasus region. He underscored Iran's unwavering commitment to this principle, declaring, "The preservation of the territorial integrity of the countries of the region and international borders is a red line for the Islamic Republic of Iran." Moreover, he endorsed the proposed 3+3 format as a viable and constructive solution for the peaceful resolution of the myriad challenges and issues facing the Caucasus region.--0--
