Iran Offers to Open the Armenian Consulate in Tabriz
Iran has offered to open the Consulate General of Armenia in Tabriz. Reporters learned this from the Armenian Ambassador to Iran Grigor Arakelyan, MEHR Agency reported.
Currently, Armenia is considering the issue, said Arakelyan. After solving some issues, the Armenian Consulate General in Tabriz will be opened, he said.
Note that Tabriz (north of Iran) is a purely Azerbaijani city and there are very few Armenians there. Why the Armenian Consulate General should open in Tabriz is not clear. But why the Iranian authorities have decided to annoy the Azerbaijanis this way is completely clear. -02D-
