Iranian Foreign Minister Arrives in Nakhchivan
Baku / 06.04.18 / Turan: The Iranian Foreign Minister arrived in Baku from the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan on Friday.
As IRNA agency reported, during the meeting with the chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Vasif Talibov, Zarif spoke in favor of strengthening this region"s relations with Iran.
Noting joint projects in the field of energy, Zarif added that there are good reasons for cooperation in the fields of industrial production, livestock, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, tourism, transit and the food industry.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also called for improved banking contacts, the exchange of students and scientists, and establishment of relations between Nakhchivan and the Iranian provinces of East and West Azerbaijan. He called for strengthening ties between the cities of Nakhchivan and Tabriz.
In turn, Vasif Talibov said that relations with Iran are progressing in all areas. "Iranians are free to travel to Nakhchivan and back, the number of tourists is increasing, and Iranian students continue their education without problems," he said.
Recall that Zarif spent two days in the capital of Azerbaijan for the participation of the Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement states.
In Nakhchivan, he also visited the Duzdag physiotherapy center. -02D-

According to a report by Turan correspondent, the discussions took place behind closed doors and lasted for over an hour. No statements were made to the press following the meeting.
