J. Gasanli: The government bribed the MEPs at the Hilton

During the presidential election on October 9 in Azerbaijan there was a usurpation of power, and the Constitutional Court approved the falsified results of the vote. This at a press conference today said the former presidential candidate of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) Jamil Gasanli.

According to him, holding a hasty inauguration of Aliyev shows no recognition of the international community’s concerns regarding the results of the elections.

On October 17th The CEC approved the final report of the elections. On October 18th Gasanli appealed, and on the same day, after close of business, the Baku Court of Appeal dismissed the complaint.

On October 19th, was scheduled a session of the Constitutional Court.

"The Constitutional Court had to wait for completion of the review of our appeal to the Supreme Court," said Gasanli.

Hasty inauguration took place without informing the public.

The authorities realized that none of the representatives of the leading nations of the world will come to such a ceremony, said Gasanli.

According to him, the authorities were preparing for a spectacular inauguration and even ordered a large shipment of flowers to be delivered to flower shops .

Gasanli believes that the voting was 20% and the majority of voters voted for Gasanli . In the territory of  50 constituencies, voting results were completely rigged, and in the remaining 75 districts – partially so. As an example of falsification, Gasanli indicated the polls in Beylagan region .

The election headquarters has video evidence of the acts and violations of sections 2500 and this will be dispersed into the world community.

Speaking about his meetings in Brussels, Paris and Strasbourg , Gasanli said that the European institutions are investigating the scandal of the election assessment mission of PACE and the European Parliament .

Gasanli said there were credible reports of negotiations with members of the PACE delegation in Strasbourg at the Hilton regarding the payment of their fees.

"We know who among Azerbaijani officials conducted these negotiations and who was an interpreter. The law enforcement agencies of France also know this. Over time, this information will be made public," said Gasanli.

Some MEPs are associated with the children of corrupt ministers of Azerbaijan, said Gasanli.

It is reported that on October 27th NCDF will hold a protest against election fraud.

The 24th session held by NCDF will identify future priorities of the organization. "Those who advocate adventurist applications and work for those in power cannot remain in NCDF," he said.

On 14-24th November, Gasanli will also pay a visit to the U.S., where he will meet with representatives of the State Department, the Senate, the House of Representatives, etc.

Referring to the events in Biryulyovo, Gasanli spoke of the falsity of the statements of the authorities that they have created 1.2 million jobs. In this case, citizens would not leave and would not have suffered such privations and humiliations in Biryulyovo and other places, he said. -03C06-
