Kocharyan Going to Moscow, Arayik Going to Retire
Baku / 17.12.20 / Turan: On December 31, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will announce his resignation and the holding of early parliamentary elections, the Zhokhovurd newspaper reported.
A day earlier, the leader of the Karabakh separatists, Arayik Harutyunyan, announced his imminent resignation.
According to the Armenian media, he intends to transfer power to Vitaly Balasanyan, the current head of the "Security Council of Karabakh". At the same time, the resignation of all local leaders and the formation of a "provisional government" are expected, where Dashnak supporters will take key positions.
Against this background, ex-President of Armenia Robert Kocharian went on a "private three-day visit" to Moscow. Apparently, Kocharian will try to resolve issues about the future of Karabakh and the Armenian government.
Recently, those who support the idea of a Russian protectorate over Karabakh have become noticeably more active in Armenia. Most of these forces are in Karabakh itself, and they do not hide their plans to grant the Armenians of Karabakh Russian citizenship, which, according to their plan, would guarantee protection and exclude the possibility of returning Karabakh to Azerbaijan. -02B-
