Azerbaijan introduces new mechanism for diplomatic service recruitment

On March 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, highlighting growing coordination between Moscow and Baku amid tensions surrounding Iran that are reshaping the geopolitical landscape of the South Caucasus and the wider Middle East.

U.S. and Azerbaijani officials and business leaders gathered in Washington to mark the 30th anniversary of the U.S.–Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC) at an international conference aimed at expanding trade, investment and strategic economic cooperation between the two countries.

Changes have been introduced to the legal framework governing labour relations, social insurance accounting and the pension system. The law “On Amendments to the Labour Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Law ‘On Individual Registration in the State Social Insurance System’, and the Law ‘On Labour Pensions’” provides for the modernization of the identification mechanism within the social protection system.
