Mamedyarov complains Pentagon officials of some circles in the US
Today Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has received Evelyn Farkas, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense and people accompanying him.
The information of the Foreign Ministry said that Farkas noted the strategic nature of bilateral relations and coincidence of interests of the USA and Azerbaijan in the fight against terrorism, energy security and peacekeeping operations. She expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for providing an air corridor to supply US troops in Afghanistan.
Mammadyarov, in turn, noted Azerbaijan's participation in peacekeeping forces in Afghanistan and assisting this country.
He further complained that "some circles in the US converted to issues concerning Azerbaijan in the subject of public hearings, which is contrary to the nature of the strategic relationship between the two countries." The parties also discussed other issues of mutual interest. -02D-
