Martial Law Introduced in Azerbaijan
Baku / 09/27/20 / Turan: By the decree of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, martial law has been introduced in Azerbaijan since September 28.
According to the document, in the cities of Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Naftalan, Apsheron, Jabrayil, Fizuli, Beylagan, Agdam, Terter, Goygol, Dashkesan, Gadabay, Tovuz, Shamkir, and Gazakh a curfew will be introduced from 21.00 to 06.00.
During the period of martial law, restrictions may be introduced as provided by the relevant law.
The document also provides for the restriction of entry and exit of vehicles to settlements.
The parliament of Azerbaijan at a special plenary session approved a decree on martial law. –06D-

The National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) has scheduled a protest rally in Baku for May 19 demanding the release of political prisoners, electoral reform, improvement of the social situation of the population, and the opening of land borders. Earlier, the opposition had already scheduled rallies with these demands for April 21 and May 5. However, the Baku Executive refused to authorize opposition demonstrations.

The servicemen and aircraft of the Azerbaijani Army have left for Turkey, where they will take part in the international search and rescue exercises "Anatolian Phoenix - 2024" in Konya. Military personnel of the Air Force and Naval Forces will represent Azerbaijan at the exercises with the participation of military personnel of various countries, the country's Defense Ministry reported.
