Meeting of the Azerbaijani-Iranian Commission on Military cooperation
Baku/08.09.23/Turan: A meeting of the joint Azerbaijani-Iranian military commission will be held in Baku on Saturday,
September 9. A delegation of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces is leaving for Azerbaijan to participate in a meeting to discuss issues of cooperation in the military and defense spheres, the Iranian "Tasnim" news agency .
Last month,during a telephone conversation with the Azerbaijani Defense Minister, the Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, noted the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the military sphere. The Iranian delegation will be headed by Deputy Defense Minister, Brigadier General Mehdi Farhi.
It has not yet been possible to get comments from the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry. The previous meeting of the Azerbaijani-Iranian joint military commission was held on February 26, 2020.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.
