Mehriban Aliyeva Agrees to Meet with Armenians?
Senator Philip Katzenbach, Chair of the friendship group France-Armenia invited Armenian and Azerbaijani parliamentarians to a meeting to resolve the Karabakh conflict.
Katzenbach sent an invitation to Ara Babloyan; head of the Friendship Group Armenia-France and to Mehriban Aliveya, head of the group Azerbaijan-France.
The letter reads: "On November 29 during the visit of the delegation of the Armenian parliamentarians to France, I would like to organize a round table on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. At this meeting I would also like to invite the former French representative at the OSCE Minsk Group.
My friend Ara Babloyan expressed interest in meeting in France between the parliamentarians of Armenia and Azerbaijan to start working towards a lasting peace in Karabakh. In addition, I intend to invite the President of the Friendship Group France-Caucasus, so that he was also present at the round table."
He added that Mehriban Aliyeva gave her agreement in principle in the spring of last year, and expressed the hope that the French Senate will have another opportunity for peace in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Turan’s attempts to get a comment from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which is headed by Mehriban Aliyeva, failed and the agency’s query to the Parliament did not produce any results. -02D-
