Ministry of Ecology Reorganized
Baku / 16.01.19 / Turan: The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on measures to improve the structure and management of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
According to the document, the State Environmental Safety Service will be created on the basis of the Department of Environmental Protection.
The Forest Development Service is formed on the basis of the Department of Forest Development and the Forest Research Institute.
In addition, he ordered the creation of the National Hydrometeorological Service on the basis of the National Department of Environmental Monitoring, the National Department of Hydrometeorology, the Research Institute of Hydrometeorology, the Center for Metrology and Standardization and the Laboratory Center for the Environment.
Along with this, the Biodiversity Conservation Service will be created on the basis of the Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Development of Specially Protected Natural Territories, the Department of Reproduction and Protection of Biological Resources of Water Bodies, the Hunting Management and State Control of Hunting Activity Service and the Fisheries Research Institute will be established.
In addition, the State Agency for Geodesy and Cartography is being liquidated. Its functions will be performed by the Ministry's staff.
The Baku city department of ecology and natural resources is also being liquidated. Within the number of its employees, the staff of local Ministry bodies will be increased.
The decree provides for the creation of the State Agency for Ecological Expertise on the basis of the Department of State Expertise. -06D--
