At a press conference on Friday in the Media Center, Yafez Akramoglu, Nakhchivan correspondent of Radio "Azadlig" spoke about persecution, threats and blackmail.
On April 3 a package was delivered to his home with a letter full of blackmail and threats.
The package also enclosed a CD featuring nude women, correspondence from facebook, and a recording of an intimate conversation between the unidentified man and woman.
"The next day a man called me and introduced himself as an employee of the MNS of Nakhchivan. He said that the package was sent by the MNS, and asked me to stop writing negative information about Nakhchivan. He also offered money, which I refused," said the journalist.
"My reports have troubled the leadership of Nakhchivan, because all the materials and journalistic investigations are associated with the violation of human rights and arbitrary power," said Akramoglu.
Responsibility for anything which may happen in the future to him and his family, lies with the leadership of Nakhchivan. He also said that the editorial office of "Azadlig" spoke to the Ministry of Interior, General Prosecutor Office and the Ministry of National Security in connection with the incident.
A journalist-investigator, Khadija Ismayilova, in turn, believes that the responsibility for possible action against Akramoglu and his family not only lies with the leadership of Nakhchivan, but the Interior Ministry, General Prosecutor Office and other relevant departments. She believes there is a fault when journalists must constantly demand an answer from the agencies, for their crimes against journalists, including the murder of Elmar Huseynov and Rafiq Tagi. -04С-
