At about 15:00 a representative of the EL Movement, Eldaniz Guliyev was attacked at the entrance to the city of Lankaran.
According to the Chairman of the EL Movement, Eldar Namazov, Guliyev went to Lankaran to participate in a regional conference, scheduled for 17:00. "Just at the entrance to the city his car was blocked by unknown persons, who began to beat him with sticks and stones; and their actions were led by a representative of the executive power," said Namazov.
Similar reports come from other regions, where on Friday regional conferences of the EL Movement were to take place.
In January a similar attack was organized by the authorities against the leader of "Musavat" Isa Gambar. Dozens of police officers and members of the executive authorities blocked the road, and then attacked people accompanying Gambar.
The authorities did not investigate the fact and did not give an explanation as to the reasons for the incident. -02В-
