Action in Nardaran is postponed
The action of protest in Nardaran appointed for Friday demanding the release of Taleh Bagirzade, arrested on March 31 on charges of drug possession, failed. The reason for the action became the rumors that the head of the Caucasian Muslims Board, Sheikh Allahshukur Pashazade, assured the local elders that Bagirzade will be released within two months. It was announced at 16:00 I the Imam Hussein Square at the time when together hundreds of believers gathered in the square. After that announcement believers dispersed.
However, Turan was not able to obtain confirmation of this information in the Caucasus Muslims Board. It is possible that the rumor was started deliberately to disrupt the action.
According to Turan correspondent, in the morning all the entrances to the Nardaran were brought under control of police squads. Buses with policemen are along the road leading to the village of Nardaran.—16C03/06-
