Baku/30.01.21/Turan: Russian servicemen began a march on their vehicles to the area of ​​the village of Giyamaddinlli in the Agdam region of Azerbaijan, where a joint Russian-Turkish center will be deployed to control the ceasefire and all hostilities in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This is stated in the message of the Russian Ministry of Defense dated January 30.

Prior to that, for several days at the point of deployment of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Khankendi, the servicemen studied the structure, purpose, tasks and functions, the procedure for organizing the work of the Joint Center, as well as the culture, traditions and characteristics of the country in whose territory they are to perform tasks.

The personnel of the Joint Center, represented on a parity basis from the Russian and Turkish sides, will carry out the tasks of monitoring the situation and control over the observance of the ceasefire and all hostilities using unmanned aerial vehicles.

Note that the Turkish contingent of the Center is already in place.

The joint Russian-Turkish center for control over the ceasefire and all hostilities in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will be deployed on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan in accordance with the Memorandum signed by the heads of the defense departments of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey on November 11, 2020. The headquarters of the Joint Center is formed in the form of a command post on a parity basis; it represents an equal number of representatives from each side (60 people) with a head from each national structure. -02B-
