Names, Positions of Six Arrested Border Service Officers Become Known
Baku / 22.05.20 / Turan: The press service of the State Security Service announced the names of the officers of the country's border service who were arrested in recent days for corruption.
We are talking about a group of officers led by a general who protected the poaching in the Caspian. This is the deputy chief of the State Border Guard Service (SBGS) of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant General Nagiyev Afgan, who is the head of the coast guard of the SBGS.
His subordinates Colonel Panahov Nemat, Colonel Valiev Elchin, Colonel Azizov Samig, Colonel Muradov Sakit, and Major Namazov Muzaffar.
Collecting money from poachers, they allowed the latter illegal fishing outside the territorial waters of the country.
Officers collected money and handed it over to Nagiyev monthly.
A criminal case has been instituted on the facts under Articles 308.1 (abuse of power) and 311.3.1 (bribery of a group of persons who previously committed fraud) of the Criminal Code. The Baku Military Court arrested all of these officers.
Intermediary poachers who collected and handed over money to officers were also arrested.
Inspectors of the Emergencies Ministry, Babayev Rahman, and Ministry of Environment, Abdullayev Arif, who also turned a blind eye to poaching, were also arrested. -02D-
