NCDF Condemned Government Pressure on Movement EL
The National Council of Democratic Forces ( NCDF) issued a statement condemning the pressure on the movement EL, included in this oppositional structure.
In particular, the Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation on the basis of Aflan Ibrahimov's defamatory statements about the alleged preparation of leaders of EL and NCDF for unrest. The statement regarded this as another pressure on the democratic camp .
NCDF believes that the authorities by such methods seek to lay the foundations for a new provocation against NCDF and to pull processes in the country out of the lawful and peaceful manner.
Instead of being based on the statements of the accuser to expose inappropriate questioning of known political figures, the prosecution had better attract the accuser to responsibility for giving false testimony, the statement of NCDF said.
Execution by the prosecutor's office of the political order to put pressure on the opposition strengthens confidence in the lack of government intentions to hold free and fair elections.
NCDF urged the authorities to stop the dirty methods against political opponents.
NCDF said it will make all efforts for peaceful and democratic struggle for change in the country by legal means.
NCDF will not retreat a single step in the fight to protect their members and all other people, who were subject to pressure from the authorities.
The statement was adopted at the NCDF session on September 3. -06D -
