Kassymzhomart Tokayev and Ilham Aliyev
Negotiations between leaders of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan started
Baku/24.08.22/Turan: On August 24, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev arrived on an official visit to Azerbaijan.
After the official ceremony of meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, the leaders of the two countries began face-to-face negotiations.
Among other issues, Aliyev and Tokayev are expected to discuss the development of the trans-Caspian transport system to expand transportation within the East-West corridor, as well as increase the export of Kazakh oil through Azerbaijan. This topic has become relevant amid periodic difficulties in Russia for pumping Kazakh hydrocarbons through the CPC oil pipeline to the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk.
It should be noted that a memorandum was signed in Baku the day before between the Baku port and Kazakhstan railways, implying supplies from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan. -06B-
