“New proposals” of Yerevan – a repetition of what was said
Baku/19.01.22/Turan: Armenia, through the Russian side, handed over to Azerbaijan a package of proposals for de-escalating the situation in the border zone, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated at a meeting of the National Assembly at a meeting with deputies on January 19. According to Mirzoyan, the Armenian side has prepared a package of measures to de-escalate the situation, as well as increase stability and security in the border zone.
“The package was transferred both to Russia and through Moscow to Azerbaijan. Naturally, I can’t publish the details,” Mirzoyan said and immediately added that the proposals imply “a mirror withdrawal of troops and the creation of additional security mechanisms.”
It should be noted that what Mirzoyan said is a repetition of proposals that Baku has repeatedly rejected. In Azerbaijan, and in Russia as well, the problem of descalation is seen in the delimitation of the borders of the two countries on the basis of the border of the Azerbaijan and Armenian SSR. -02D-
