Next Week to Be Also Inactive in Azerbaijan
Baku / 25.03.20 / Turan: Next week in Azerbaijan will be also inactive. This decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers of the country as part of measures to counteract the spread of the Corona Virus COVID-19.
Earlier, in connection with the spring holiday of Novruz Bayrami, days from March 20 to 28, inclusive, were declared non-working. The work week was to begin on March 29. However, according to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers, days from March 29 to April 4 are now recognized as non-working.
The non-working week regime does not apply to objects of national importance and livelihoods, as well as banks, supermarkets, grocery stores, pharmaceutical institutions, pharmacies, food production enterprises, as well as to senior officials of state bodies and departments and employees involved in them, if necessary. –21D-

On November 15, animal rights activist Kamran Mammadli was detained while staging a protest at the COP29 climate conference. Mammadli was protesting the shooting of street dogs in Azerbaijan. He raised a sign above his head that read: "Azerbaijani authorities are shooting dogs on the streets!" He also shouted: "Resign those who teach youth to be sycophants under the guise of volunteerism!"
