Nigar Hazi: My Father Beaten, Shot on Video Camera
Baku /21.10.19 / Turan: Tofig Yagublu was subjected to horrific torture in the Nasimi district police department, his daughter Nigar Hazi said.
According to her, after Yagublu was detained in the protest rally in Baku on October 19, he was handcuffed in the Nasimi police and thrown down and beaten for 1 hour.
"He was beaten and kicked a lot. According to the lawyer Neymat Karimli, he has a bruise under his right eye. Bumps on the head are clearly visible. He cannot raise his right hand. Father is also very lethargic," said Hazi.
According to her, the beatings were recorded on a video camera.
"Beating him, they demanded that he say that he had made a" mistake". After such cruelty, keeping him in a cell is simply barbarism. Father urgently needs to be transferred to a medical institution. In such conditions, his pain will not go away. He must be under the supervision of doctors. If something happens to my father, then Ilham Aliyev will be responsible for this," said Hazi.
It was not possible to get comments from the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Nasimi district police department. -0-
