All Who Are Over 70 Should Retire: Will Officials Hear This Appeal of President Aliyev?
Baku/22.10.19/Turan: "I believe that people in power who have reached retirement age, in any case, who are over 70, will probably follow your example. Anyway, I hope so."
This phrase was said by the head of state Ilham Aliyev on Monday, seeing off the retirement of two Deputy Prime Ministers, Ali Hasanov and Hajibala Abutalybov.
For the first time, the head of state called on senior officials to voluntarily resign.
If you look to whom this appeal is addressed, then first of all, this is the head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev, who is already 81 years old. At the same age is the Ombudswoman Elmira Suleymanova. Vice Prime Minister Yagub Eyubov is 73 years old. The head of the Security Council, Ramil Usubov, is 71 years old. The head of the State Committee for Land Reclamation, Ahmed Ahmedzadeh, is 72 years old. Oktay Shahbazov, Managing Director of the Presidential Administration, is 78 years old. There are many pensioners among deputies, as well as middle-ranking officials who have been in positions of 20 or even 25 years. -02D-
