Opposition Parties Condemn the Detention of Mehman Huseynov
The Popular Front Party and "Musavat" issued a statement of protest against the detention of a photojournalist Mehman Huseynov.
Authors of the statement called his arrest as an "illegal kidnapping", because the fate of the reporter remained unknown for many hours, and the public was not informed.
The very forms of detention, and without his lawyer present, are arbitrary and gross offenses, according to the opposition parties.
"Aliyev’s regime is trying to deprive Huseynov of active political struggle during the elections and has tried to silence him," said the party "Musavat".
The Popular Front Party regarded the incident as another assault against critical voices, demanding the stop such practices. -05D04-
