OSCE/ODIHR representatives meet with the head of “Musavat”
Baku/18.12.23/Turan: The OSCE/ODIHR Election Needs Assessment Mission has arrived in Baku. Today, members of the mission - Dr. Martina Barker Tsygankova and Goran Petrov held a meeting with the leader of the Musavat party Arif Hajili. According to the press service of “Musavat,” Hajili explained the reasons for the party's refusal to participate in the elections.
The purpose of the delegation is to assess the situation in order to organize monitoring of the early presidential elections on February 7. It is expected that the OSCE/ODIHR, at the invitation of the Government of Azerbaijan, will send long-term and short-term observers to these elections.
The program of the mission's visit includes meetings with representatives of the government, the Central Election Commission, political parties, civil society and the media. -06b-
